Preschool

In the Today's Child Learning Centers Preschool class, we concentrate on positive social skills, introduce name recognition and help children master the concepts of color, shape and numbers.

Our goals in this class include assisting your child with social and emotional development, including
  • A healthy sense of self
  • Responsibility
  • Pro-social behavior,
  • Fine and gross motor development
  • Thinking skills needed for primary school
Cognitive development centers around learning and problem solving, logical thinking, representation and symbolic thinking. Language skills are reinforced with listening, speaking, reading and writing.

Classrooms are set up in educational learning centers designed to encourage the children to make choices and decisions on their own.

The curriculum includes weekly themes, simple science units, math, music, arts and crafts and plenty of reading to provide your child with a well-rounded educational experience. Parent participation for certain class topics is requested.

Each month's activities are based on an overall theme and detailed lesson plans on each theme are created by the classroom's lead teacher.
The Preschool program is an intensive academic environment.  Participating in the full session enables each child to take advantage of all that is being taught.

Today's Child provides breakfast, lunch, and a snack as part of our meal program.

Parents are responsible for providing a sleeping bag or blanket for nap time(we provide a nat mat) and to supply a complete change of clothing.
